ABOUT ME Hi! My name is Emma Collicutt and I'm a freelance artist. I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember....... ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My teachers at school encouraged me to develop my talents and I began to build up an extensive portfolio. Having gained a Grade 'A' in A-Level art I progressed to Bath College of Art. Now, many years on, I feel my main strengths are my attention to detail and the ability to capture an accurate likeness to every subject that I tackle. I've tried my hand at many creative skills, including book illustrations and greetings card design. I enjoy silk painting, life drawing and working with stained glass. These days I make a living drawing pencil portraits from photographs. I'm a self confessed perfectionist and I find it impossible to compromise the quality of my work. This means I spend hours and hours making sure each picture is just right and that every customer is 100% satisfied! How to order Most of my customers contact me either by phone, if in the UK, or by email. We can then discuss requirements and timescales. I ask my customers to then send their photographs to me (I always stress the clearer the photograph--- the better the picture I can produce!). When I am initially contacted and have discussed requirements I can give an estimated cost, I usually wait until I see the photograph before giving a final price. Before proceeding I ask for a deposit of about half the final cost, this is to prevent spending hours on a picture that is never collected. Prices vary depending on the size of the finished picture, the quality of the original photograph and the complexity of the picture required. I can say that most of my customers are very pleased with the results and are surprised at how affordable my pictures are (*see clients responses). Once completed I contact my customer and ask for the final payment. On receipt of this the picture will be professionally mounted and protected in clear wrap before being sent to them.
